ABOUT students first!

Students First California is a non-profit organization advocating for student-first policies in education across California.

For years, special interest groups have directed education policies, laws, and resources in California. This became widely evident during the pandemic, when California’s school children took a back seat to nearly every special interest group in education. From this, Students First California was born.

Founded in 2022, Students First California aims to be a counterforce in education by ensuring parents have a seat at the table, ultimately for the betterment of their children’s K-12 education.

Students First California’s efforts include assisting parents and school boards achieve better engagement, advising school boards, promoting student-first policies at the state and local level, and recruiting, supporting, and training parent-backed, student-first candidates.
